Another Year that Passed in a Blink
End of year. Again! I wrote last year that I knew it was going to pass like a blink. And indeed it did!
Exactly one year ago, I wrote some tips to myself for 2025. One was to learn about AI. Check. I think I might have overdosed a bit..
Is it only me who is already missing spelling mistakes, imperfect social media posts, and non perfect English on LinkedIn? I miss the authenticity. There is something about human imperfection that I love. The older I get, the less I strive for perfection. (and somehow it comes very natural now 🤣)
Cold Water and Hot Saunas
I started this week with a winter bath. It still makes me so happy; it gives me a calmness and a feeling of "fulfillment" that I struggle to find elsewhere. Conclusion for the year; I did not do this enough in 2025.
For 2026, my target is once per week. I always combine the cold bath with a sauna, and now I’ve started bringing a towel to wipe away the sweat. A wise person gave me that tip, to support the much-needed detoxification through the skin. So this give an extra health boost during my winterbath-sauna ritual.
The Power of "Fake It Until You Make It"
Were you brave during 2025? I have to say, I was. Many times, I pretended to be a very confident man🧔♂️. I heard myself saying “Yes” when asked if I mastered this or that. And you know what? When it was time to deliver, I actually did master it!
👉 My tip for anyone with too much self-doubt: Say "Yes" and go more with fake it until you make it.
I also chose myself and my independence again this year. I chose a vivante life over safety and financial stability. There were moments I wondered if that was a smart decision, but now I know: Yes. Closing that door led to others opening. I am so thankful I followed my gut feeling.
Experiments in Health: 80/20
I experimented a lot to optimize my health this year:
• Glucose Monitoring: I saw "black on white" how much stress influences blood sugar.
• The Paleo Diet: I felt great, but realized I cannot be that strict forever. I am an 80/20 person.
• The Wins: I’m taking gluten-free living and less alcohol into 2026. My skin felt so much softer this fall and my body felt "lighter." I want to keep that feeling.
Looking Ahead: The big Transition 😨
As I continue to explore how to optimize my health, 2026 will be the year of digging deeper into hormones.
For many of us in our 40s, this is the time when things start to shift. Estrogen and progesterone begin their little roller coaster ride, not always taking us one the most pleasant rides..
I want to explore how to manage this transition better, looking into things like bioidentical hormone support to ensure the next five years are a smooth ride rather than a struggle. It's about being proactive about our well-being as we age.
Create Your Own "Vibrant" 2026
When I think about the world at a macro level, it is easy to get dark in the mind. But carrying misery doesn't help. Instead, I am a believer of taking charge of what we can control.
When I come back from skiing, I will sit down and visualize my 2026, my goals, my people, and the feeling I want to have a year from now. If we all create our own vibrant 2026, I am sure we can have a more positive impact on this world.
Let’s make 2026 a vibrant, kick-ass Vivnate year! Load and clear 🎆
With love,
Åsa
